Wow! It's been a long time since a post…too long! But I had to post this for today! We are off are in Japan, heading north into the Kuril Islands and the Russian Far East. I was on the Bridge this morning for literally 5 minutes when a big floating bird came into view, Tony Crocker said "Hey, what's this?" and I took litterally milli-seconds to yell "SHORT-TAILED ALBATROSS". We circled round and founf it again and had stunning views in great light - what a bird!
Then the afternoon on Rishiri Island resulted in a stunning male BLACK WOODPECKER and sing male SIBERIAN RUBYTHROATS! What a day…
